A UNESCO World Heritage colonial town, San Miguel de Allende is built for the camera: the pink-stone Parroquia spires, candlelit courtyards, rooftop bars at dusk, and narrow cobblestone streets that look unreal on film.
It has long been a haven for US and expat destination weddings, with an editorial, romantic aesthetic. Crucially for film, SMA leans on independent venues, haciendas and boutique hotels, rather than big all-inclusive resorts, so there are usually far fewer restrictions on bringing the team you want. The high seasons are spring and fall.
